The last time I checked, the HDHomeRun required a DHCP server to assign
it an IP address. (This was a year ago, so it is possible they have
upgraded the firmware to add a feature to staticly assign an IP to
it...but I don't believe they have. I believe the requirement to use a
DHCP server is a choice they made to make the HDHomeRun "just work".)
