Since it uses a standard connector for the fan, you can get a speed 
controller, such as 
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118217, and 
slow the fan down where you don't hear it any more, but it still 
provides good cooling (compared to no fan at all).
