Jarod,
 I don't know if you are aware,but the Linux version of SageTV has the 
ir Blaster working... I will post the link to their forum,where it is 
discussed...

I have seen the moderator of that forum on  #hdpvr irc channel when 
JanneG was developing the driver... Hope it helps..
