Ah ha! Given it was coming through before I was using it as a special 
key to use for powering down my system. In other words, instead of using 
the toggle power button, I use the normal power to boot the system 
(which as you know the receiver interprets when the system is off) and 
then I used the "useless" MouseKeyboard button to shutdown the system 
via irexec.

So if you still feel it is better to absorb it then I will look for 
another key to map my power down to.
