Simplistically Storage, Distribution and User Interface.

1.  As others on the list have stated Multi TB storage allowing huge
libraries to be stored painlessly.

2.  You can grown your system with new frontends, existing DVR's
require you to duplicate data to the new box.

3.  Between Mythweb and the in system UI how easy do you need it to be.
