Do the people who complain about Tivo actually blame them for making a
business out of the technology we love? Or are they just jealous Tivo has
had some success at making money from it.

I see nothing wrong with what Tivo has done.  If competitors have
actually infringed on Tivo's IP, then they should be held accountable,
but that is for the courts to decide.

Packaging technologies into a consumer friendly and useful product, when
executed well is good business.  The Tivo works a lot better and with
less tinkering then the MythTV does, my wife sure knows that.  IMHO,
that is worth something.

Kudos to them for making it work.
