[mythtv-users] Duplicate Entries in Videometadata table

I can't understand why, but I am getting multiple records for the same
filename in this table. I am not initiating scans.
One entry has the full path /media/mount/backup/dir/filename
one entry has  backup/dir/filename

This is resulting in multiple icons in mythvideo for each item. How can I
stop this? Obviously a unique index on filename won't solve this
