Hi,
I have two drives that are set to spindown.
hdparm -S240 /dev/sdb
hdparm -S240 /dev/sdc
After they have spinned down the (/dev/sdb) Seagate Barracuda LowPower 1.5TB 5900RPM SATA2 32M does not wake up.
The Samsung drive spins up just fine.
#hdparm -i /dev/sdb
/dev/sdb:
HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(identify) failed: Invalid exchange
HDIO_GET_IDENTITY failed: No message of desired type
#hdparm -i /dev/sdc
/dev/sdc:
Model=SAMSUNG, FwRev=1AA01113, SerialNo=S13UJDWQ715934
]# pwd
/1500
# ls -l
ls: reading directory .: Input/output error
total 0
After reboot the /dev/sdb is up and running.
What to do with the disk?
Can it be set to spindown some other way?
Yours,
Timo
