I can corroborate Jarod's experience with my LVM-47W1 (which replaced
an LVM-37W1 three years ago). Using DVI input, a 1080p modeline, and
no deinterlacer, side-to-side motion during playback of 1080i
recordings is smooth without combing. It's not as smooth as the VDPAU
Temporal 2x deinterlacer, though, so I do use a deinterlacer.
