Believe it or not, what I'm doing now is just pushing the select button on the
DISH remote every morning when I get up, since I generally turn on the TV at
that time anyway, it's just an extra button press.
Of course if I try to record anything between the D/L and my arising I'll miss
it, and Myth will not know that it has recorded an hour of "Press Select", so
far this has not been a problem, there's not much I'd want to record at that
time anyway.
And I could get it in any case, as I have 2 PVRs connected to cable, I only
use DISH occasionally. Of course as analog cable channels start to go away
that situation might change. I have an HDHR on the cable as well, but the
selection of unencrypted QAM channels is limited.
I've thought about using a cron job, it'd certainly be easy enough, but the
status quo is working for now...

I'm only using analog audio into a PVR right now. If I get the HD-PVR working
I'll think about digital audio matters.
