Is "warm spare" an option with md?

Drive is plugged in. and powered up, but not spinning.  It doesn't start
spinning
until a drive in the array fails.  Spinning it up only adds a few seconds to
the
recovery time, and the drive uses minimal power when it is not spinning, and
no
wear and tear on the bearrings, motors, etc.
