I wonder if there could have been some change in the stream midway where one
of the DRM bits got set?  I don't believe that the Myth firewire drivers are
checking for changes in the status bits (or even if they are present on this
plug).  But it is almost like the STB just stopped sending.  Or would this
have caused a "read" error by Myth?
