I've had similar problems and posted about them here in the past but
never got any resolution.  There were a handful of threads on this in
June.  It seems to be a common problem.

For me, the voodoo which gets it to show up is to run "tcpdump host
239.255.255.250" on the backend.  If that's running, I can see the
UPNP server from anywhere on the network, and without it I can't.  I
don't know why.
