Because port forwarding is currently (and has been for a long time)
broken in MythWeb and (current versions of) Firefox reportedly
ignores/stripts the final :80, so it seems to work properly, but only
because Firefox is stripping the brokenness out itself.
What does work (and always has) is using a SOCKS5 proxy (which you can
also do via SSH). I highly recommend setting Firefox up with FoxyProxy
to make it easy to enable/disable (even on a per-domain basis).

BTW, I'm guessing you're the same stuart from IRC. (If not, ignore the
rest.) If so, did you notice
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/6683#comment:5 ? (If you are the same
stuart,) Your MySQL is broken/improperly compiled. (Though, if you are
the same guy, you likely got this fixed since you're working on MythWeb,
now...)
