One thing that crossed my mind is that since this is set to "record every day", and has been for a while, perhaps that cached some station related value that was changed by a subsequent database update from SchedulesDirect?  That would explain how the problem channel can be watched and recorded interactively (with R) because they use the new, now correct data, but not work from the (older) automatic recording entry, because it is stuck with the older data.
