Hello all,
Is there anyway to set up a warning when my log files start getting too big?
I'm running Mythbuntu, and every now and then they get completely out of
control, and then by the time I get around to trying to find a problem,
the sizes seem ok again.
It's mythfrontend that seems to cause the problem sometimes. Even on log
rotate (which I think Mythbuntu sets up to rotate everyday) I've had log
files up to 3gig each. Then, without explanation, they go back down to a
few KB.
The problem is, that when they go big without me knowing about it, it
can really break other programs as they leave no space on the drive at
all so other apps are trying to write to config files etc and they just
implode on themselves.
Is there any way to set up a warning (on screen or send me an email?)
when this starts to happen so that I can delete the older logs and set
aside some time to find the problem?
Cheers
Damian
