It is against the IMDB TOS to use robots or scrapers to pull data from 
their website.  In the last several months, IMDB modified their pages 
such that the official mythtv scraper (imdb.pl) started retrieving very 
low resolution images, and then none at all.  Since scrapers are no 
longer allowed by IMDB, instead of being fixed, the scraper was outright 
abandoned.  The python scraper you are using may be experiencing similar 
issues.
