I've just tried Fedora rawhide with intel 2.7.0 xorg driver, the
"night vision" mode using openGL is cured, though playback is not
necessarily very smooth (I seem to remember it was quite smooth when
it was green!)

The tearing using Xv-blit mode has also been cured, so I'm using that
instead of openGL.
