The good thing is that apparently you system is set up correctly for recording 
& playback ;)

If you suspect a borked database or database permissions, back up your current 
database, drop the mythconverg scheme start over. I used the gui tool from the 
mysql-administrator package for the backup.

Then, as a guide for setting up MythTV on openSUSE, you can follow this wiki 
article: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Opensuse_11.x

Don't forget to back up the folder .mythtv in the home directory of the 
mythbackend user. If you did not change anything, that would be /root/.mythtv
