I tried some of these last night (although not the vmalloc), and
nothing worked. I made no changes to they system, and the only
difference was the intense heat in my apartment.

This morning, I swapped out the 6200fx with one in my other computer
and everything is working fine now (I have the case completely open to
prevent more heat issues while I am gone). I have not swapped the
6200fx into my other computer to see if it works there yet, but I did
notice one of the fins on the heat sink was grey as if it was singed,
so I really do think the card just overheated and died. Kind of weird
that the nv driver would work (maybe it does not access parts of the
card that burnt out), but now I realize that I need to replace the
case fan or something. The first time that I have had this happen
living in this place for 4 years; but we are having a pretty big heat
wave I guess.
