Indeed. I find that when it gets into that mode, a cold restart will
"fix" it momentarily. F1 on Speed is tough to listen to in tinny
audio.

Interesting. I am running Mythbuntu 8.04 with the LTS updates:
$ uname -a
Linux vidbox 2.6.24-23-generic #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 21:47:28 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
What script are you using? I am using directv.pl snagged off the 'Net
last summer.
