Just checking: the Nova T-500 driver needs

   options dvb-usb_dib0700 force_lna_activation=1

to turn on the low noise amplifier. You do have that set?

On SuSE 11.1, I have it in etc/modprobe.conf.local. Varies
between distrobutions.
