[mythtv-users] No sound through mythtv -> mplayer

Background info:  - I have an onboard soundcard, mainboard is from ASROCK K10N78FullHD-hSLI    - I have removed everything that belongs to pulseaudio    - My TV is connected to HDMI cable    - Alsa shows my HDMI interface as card 0 interface 3    - If I use either mplayer, vlc or xine in the desktop environment sound is perfect. They all use ALSA as sound output device    - If I use Mythtv to watch TV, or if i watch a TV reording sound is perfectly going to the TV              Problem:    - If I play music through mythmusic there is no sound    - if i play a video that does calls mplayer, mplayer is called but no sound at all        What i have done so far:    - I have playe around with various setting in the sound setup for mythtv. Currently I have ALSA:default. But as I can hear sound if I watch live TV or if I play a video that does not call an external player such as mplayer I believ it is not a general problem.    --> I have also tried various other seting such as ALSA:plughw:0,3   ALSA:hdmi   etc. but alway the same problem.       It make no difference if i have an asound.conf-> I have tried several options there as well.           I also played around with the command that is used for calling mplayer such as the -ao command. But still no success.               As previosly said if I call mplayer fron the desktop it is all fine. The problem is somewhere in the way how myth calls mplayer.       I have spend to many nights now with this without success, that I am already thinking about throwing out this whole mythtv thing.        Does anybody have any additional ideas?        Sándor
