[mythtv-users] xvid, nuvexport and ffmpeg pink and purple spots

The author does (that'd be me)...  Probably the main reason people have
been complaining about issues with ffmpeg is because I haven't upgraded
to a newer version than the one I can get from rpmfusion.

On the other hand, I only use mp4/h.264, not xvid, so I haven't noticed
any issues with things.  Have you tried other export formats?
