I wouldn't have expected to see the problem in the video decoding as I
also see this problem in the recordings screen, however, I do have a
live preview window.  I believe I have event handling issues in
regular myth menus as well - but it's usually in recordings or during
playback where it gets really annoying.

I'd just finished grabbing the source, doing  a test a build, and
poking around to see what's what.  I'll see if I can apply your patch
and start mythfrontend with an LD_PRELOAD to pull in the changes
without having to overwrite my current installation files.  I'll let
you know what happens.
