I think I used to transcode them this way too, but I have no sound on my 
girlfriend n95, since I change mine for a n96 (I broke the other one, 
and i am very disappointed with the n96) and i don't have the sound 
anymore too :(

I use Video center to download them to my phone using a rss feed per 
serie as well a a vcfg file to create a "channel" in video center. It 
does work very well. I can provide more infos if you need.

The landscape mode is 4:3 I use to crop the 16:9 video to 4:3 to play 
them on the phone in full screen (landscape)
