The mvpmc (and mythtv) will fail to delete anything that it does not find the 
underlying recording file.   On some of the myth screen's it will prompt for 
confirmation of deletion of an entry that it cannot find the file for, on mvpmc 
it will just fail (you don't even have to reboot to get it back, just wait until 
the next recordings update and it will be back).

In the recording menu "live recordings" are not normally shown, to get them 
shown go into setup -> playback (several screens in) -> recording groups and 
select "show livetv recordings using all programs".   Then you should be able to 
see it and delete it but it will likely not be able to find the file and ask for 
confirmation.
