[mythtv-users] testing pvr 350 tv capture?

I posted a few days ago about changing TVs and suddenly my pvr350
recordings are all grainy and noisy, and since nothing changed and I've
tested cables, connections, etc, the conclusion I've come to is it is
the tv tuner on the card is going (as everything else seems to work ok.

Before I go out and buy another 350 (or I'm actually thinking a 350 and
2 150s for recording as my local geek store is having a sale) I'm
wondering if anyone has any tips for testing the tv tuner.

IE: I can now do a "cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg" to record, but are there
any settings to play with at the ivtv driver options level, or any
commands to send it to change settings or anything like that?  It's also
been suggested that swapping the PCI slot may help as well.
