[mythtv-users] Recent nVidia XvMC weirdness (Ubuntu 8.04) - Any thoughts on a fix?

Hi Listland,

I am out of ideas on how to fix this issue so I am asking for the help
of the list. I am having problems getting XvMC to work with my FX5200AGP
card. I recently redid my system and since then I have not been able to
use xvmc support from the nVidia proprietary driver. It worked fine
before the upgrade. I am currently running Ubuntu 8.04 with the drivers
installed by Envy. I modified the /etc/X11/XvMCConfig file to include
this single line.

libXvMCNVIDIA_dynamic.so.1

This has always working the past now however all I get is a blank screen
and and a locked frontend. Everything works fine using the standard and
libmpeg2 libs and I am using the same xorg.conf that served me well with
my last installs. Is there something weird with 8.04 that makes it
different from whatever release Mythbuntu runs?

TIA,
Bill
