One of the other differences is the extra PCI bridge, which is probably
the source of some of the compatibility problems the PVR500 has had. Or
rather it triggers bugs in certain motherboards and chipsets - I've
never seen any indication that the PVR500 is to blame for anybody's
problems, and since some people have reported that BIOS updates fixed
their troubles I think it's probably the motherboards. So before getting
a 500 it's a good idea to do a little research and make sure it won't be
a headache.
