And here I was wondering why they use those "Electrostatic Bags" to
ship electronic components in... It's because they need all the ESD
they can get!

Unless you could state with absolute certainty (Through personal
experience) that this causes no ill effects on computer equipment
(Which I personally doubt) I would recommend AGAINST this in the
strongest possible terms. Well, unless you want your MythTV Box to
become an instant, expensive, doorstop.
