That's strange.  It looks like it connects to the DB based on the last 
line.  Does it just sit there or crash?  Did you download from my site 
(thesniderpad.com) or roll your own?   Have you deleted the ~/.mythtv 
directory?  Sometimes that helps.  What command line args are you 
passing to it?  -v ALL?
