[mythtv-users] FF/RW not working as intended

I folks,

I have an issue with Mythfrontend and FF/RW (fast forward/rewind).
Basically I have had this as long as I can remember and I first
thought this was normal behaviour due to networking stuff or something
with using FF/RW with encoded videos etc but I since learned that this
is not supposed to be like this.

Now actually rewinding or fast forwarding "works" however: 3x works
fine, 5x or faster works for a couple of seconds and then picture
stops. Pressing play again makes you end up anywhere but usually at
the spot where it initially stopped working. I have checked for
network-errors and they do not appear. This happens to all media
(video), recorded (raw/not transcoded), AVI-files, DVD-images (img,
iso). For MKV I use Mplayer which doesn't have this issue at all.
Videos are mounted via an NFS share. Network is at gigabit speed and
frontend has Intel 2.0 Ghz Core2Duo CPU. Backend has a AMD64 3000+ so
that should be enough.

I suppose FF/RW should work "as usual" and at all speeds. So any guess
what this could be?

regards Seb
