maybe I misunderstand the situation, but thats just what 'record one 
'showing' would do. As long as you have the 'let live tv reschedule' or 
whatever that option is called set.

When you set the rule first, make sure you do it on the showing in the 
day you would most ike it to record, then it will always try to record 
that one. Any conflicts and it will find another. If its not on, it just 
wont record.

Then again I may be reading your needs completely wrong..
