I've finally gotten around to testing this patch. It seems to be as good as
the (very) early hdpvr patch I was using from svn ticket 5443.  It also is
more straightforward to setup (in mythtv-setup) and allows you to set
recording profiles, but I haven't tested anything other than default
settings.  Thanks for pulling this together!
