As well, Virtually every popular mail client[1] can be set to automatically
format incoming messages to plain text, and strip the HTML.

The rampant HTML and Rich Text on this list forced my hand to set my client
to 100% plain text, and I've never been happier.  I no longer have any rich
text/html messages from mythtv-users.  I don't even notice when they come
across anymore.

[1]I really have no idea on this.  I pulled that right out of my keester.
It works for my mail client :)
