NVIDIA completewly dropped XvMC in favour of VDPAU, wich deals with
MPEG-1, MPEG-2, H.264 and VC-1 on some chipsets. It also can deal with
deinterlacing and some other blending for OSD.

I've asked about the status of VA-API very recently on the xorg list and
was answered but complete silence...

Guess why I have originally bough an Intel 956G-based motherboard
initially, with a sDVO DVI extension card.
