I'll try that when I get home.  One thing I should mention is that I 
have the receiver from irblaster.info.  I have my lircd.conf file setup 
to emulate a Hauppage 350 (I think that's what it is), and that remote 
doesn't show up in the list IIRC, so that might make #10 above more 
difficult.  I'm using a Logitech Harmony 550 universal remote as the 
physical remote programmed as the Hauppage.  If that matters.
