Based on my experience, it's not possible to output interlaced 
content without tearing when using 1080p with the nVidia drivers, 
either. I get a consistent reverse-Z-shaped tear about 2/3 of the way 
down the screen during motion, regardless of the Vsync mode or 
nvidia-settings.
