Dear all,

Thanks very much for all the advice so far. After hearing about all the trouble with the EPIA boards, especially the difficulty of getting the hardware MPEG on the EX to work, I am now considering the following configuration:

Case: Nexus psile (http://www.psile.com/index.php?page=catalog_details&CID=2 )
Mainb: Commell LV-675D (http://www.commell.com.tw/Product/SBC/LV-675.HTM )
Processor: pentium M, eg http://tinyurl.com/62lvua
Cooler: Passive (http://www.nexustek.nl/psm_full_copper_socket_479_cooler.htm)
Memory: 1 Gb (=max)
Video capture: pinnacle 110i (http://tinyurl.com/yn82jj ; existing)
Hard disk: whatever seems big without being too expensive, eg WD 500 GB S-ATA-II U300 7200RPM 16MB

I have no idea whether the cooler can actually fit in the case and whether is will do enough to cool the processor; fortunately the cooler and case are from the same (Dutch) company so I will just give them a ring tomorrow and find out. Never knew there were any Dutch computer part companies out there! :-)

Does this seem like a sensible configuration?
Are there any glaring incompatibilities?
Will certain elements be difficult to get working in linux?
Will this be powerful enough to function as FE+BE for analog TV?

Thanks again for all the help!

Ah, forgot it wasn't a "regular" socket. A quick search returned 4 active
coolers, each of which probably could have a better (quieter) fan fitted.

This might be a bit too high, depending on the case. One of the active ones
is 35mm, with a 18,5dBA rating.
