If someone could Please HELP, I'd greatly appreciate
it.

First off, I DON'T have an issue with finding the
XMLTV IDs. I have them, from various sources. Fine.

Here is my big problem: Mythtv is not correctly
downloading programming data (or channel name or
anything else for that matter) even when I put the
XMLTV IDs in. I've spent a number of hours already on
this and I'm getting nowhere.

I know you're going to say start over, delete cards,
etc. I did. Here's a complete synopsis of my latest
attempt: (It's a bit exhaustive, but I'm desperate for
help here.) If someone can tell me what I'm doing
wrong I'd greatly appreciate it. Am I running into
bugs or am I doing something wrong?

Description of my most recent attempt:

1) Run mythtv-setup. Backend is stopped in the
process.
2) Delete all channels. Delete all transports.
(Couldn't there be a "Delete all transports" option?)
3) Delete all input connections. (Choose "None" for
Video Sources.)
4) Delete all video sources.
5) Delete all capture cards.
6) Restart mythtv-setup for good measure (without
running mythfilldatabase).
7) Review settings in "General". Confirm Channel
Frequency Table is set to us-cable-hrc.
8) Add capture card HDHR tuner 0. Timeouts = 1000ms,
3000ms.
9) Add capture card HDHR tuner 1. Timeouts = 1000ms,
3000ms.
10) Add video source "QAM256 over TWC".
SchedulesDirect (Internal), user, password, choose
"Retrieve Lineups". Choose lineup Time Warner Cable
Digital. EIT Scan = Off. Channel frequency table =
default.
11) Input Connection for HDHomeRun Port 0. Display
name = "HD 1". Video Source = "QAM256 over TWC". Quick
Tuning: LiveTV. Unencrypted Channels Only. Choose
"Scan for Channels".
12) Input: HDHomeRun Port 0. Scan Type: Full Scan.
Frequency Table: Cable HRC. Modulation: QAM256.
Channel separator 5.1 Period. Existing channel
treatment: Delete. Choose "Next". Wait while channels
are scanned.

I DO NOT select the "Fetch listings" button. Change
"Starting Channel" from "Please add..." to "100#0".
Choose "Next". Leave defaults: (Input priority 0,
Input Group 1 Generic, Input Group 2 Generic.)
13) Go to Channel Editor to inspect channels. Note
that channels are in a different order than the scan.
Also note that they don't correctly sort by either
channel name or channel number. Is this a bug?

14) Exit mythtv-setup. Backend is restarted.
15) Run mythfilldatabase. Spends a while downloading.
Seems to have run just fine.
16) Run mythfrontend. Choose "Watch TV". Pre-chosen
channel "UNKNOWN100#0" is showing a color test
pattern.
17) Hit "up" key to start looking at channel
information. Shows "USAP - 105#0" "Law and Order:
Criminal Intent. 'Stress Position' 11:00AM - 12:00AM"
- I know this is bogus because all the 105#XX channels
are untunable. They are the music channels TWC
provides that don't get picked up correctly. (I get an
error every time I try to tune them.)
18) Next channel up "UNKNOWN62#3": programming
"Unknown". I hit enter to go ahead and start watching
this channel. It's an on-demand channel, showing ads
in the upper right corner of the screen. I don't care
much about this channel.
19) Next up "UNKNOWN62#4": This is a high def channel.
Programming "Unknown". I know from my previous
spreadsheet this is KTLA 5 HD. I decide that the call
sign should be KTLADT, whose XMLTV ID is 19515. Hit
the "e" key while watching live TV on 62#4. Channel
Editor shows:
    Channel Editor
    Callsign Unknown62#4
    Channel # 62#4
    Channel Name Loading...
    XMLTV ID Loading...
OK so now I enter the number 19515 in the "XMLTV ID"
field. I then choose "OK". Doesn't seem to do
anything. From the advice on the wiki, I will "wait a
minute" to let it refresh its data. After 10 minutes,
OSD programming information still says "UNKNOWN62#4"
program is "Unknown". For shoots and giggles, exit
Live TV and choose "Watch TV" again. Still the same:
Channel: "UNKNOWN62#4" Program: "Unknown". I hit the
"e" button again. XMLTV ID is still 19515, other data
is unchanged from "Unknown", etc. This time I select
"Probe". I wait a few minutes, suffering through "John
Beck's" get rich buying government foreclosures BS. I
wait several more minutes. Nothing ever changes.
20) I exit LiveTV and mythfrontend. I run
mythfilldatabase again. After it's done, I run
mythfrontend again. Still shows "UNKNOWN62#4" with
program: Unknown.
21) Quit mythtv and reboot machine.
22) Run mythtv-setup.
23) Go to channel editor, sort by channel number. 62#4
is the first channel listed. Shows as "62#4.
Loading... (QAM256 over TWC)"
24) Select 62#4 for editing. Channel name is
"Loading...". Channel number is 62#4. Callsign is
"UNKNOWN62#4". Visible checked. Source: QAM256 over
TWC. TV Format Default, Priortiy 0. "Use on-air
guide:" is unchecked, 19515 shows in the ID box. Hit
"Next" twice. Frequency or channel shows 62. Finetune
(kHz): 0.
25) Examining the other channels in the Channel
Editor:

26) Quit mythtv-setup. Run mythfrontend. Go to live
TV, change channel to 80#8. (Should be CSPAN.) Enter
10161 for XMLTV ID. Hit "Probe" button. Wait for
several minutes while nothing happens. Hit ctrl-P and
wait again while it still does nothing.
27) Hit "Ok". Exit live TV. Re-enter LIve TV. Still
UNKNOWN80#8 with Unknown program. quit mythfrontend.
28) Open mythtv-setup again. Examine Channel Editor.
For 80#8 it says: "Loading... (80#8) (QAM256 over
TWC)".
29) No joy. Time to email mythtv-users for help.
