[mythtv-users] Commercials are never detected

I tried both running mysqlcheck and manually flagging a program today and I got the same results. Mythcommflag runs without any noticeable errors and says that 0 commercial breaks were found. I don't know what kind of messages I should be receiving with the high verbosity setting on mythcommflag, but I didn't see any major errors, it just didn't find anything. The only thing I noticed was that I have some old programs in the database where the files do not exist, mythcommflag complained about that when I ran it without specifying a recording, but I don't see how that would make any difference since it ran fine after specifying the file to flag.

What does mythcommflag rely on to detect the commercial breaks? I'm just wondering if a dependency is screwed up or if there's some sort of settings file somewhere? Is there something in the database I should check for? Seems like there must be something else it relies on, because if all the rules are built into the mythcommflag binary I don't see how it could get screwed up.

When I look at MythWeb it appears that the job was ran and completed fine. I have "All Available Methods" selected and "Strict Commercial Detection" turned off. Out of probably the 50 shows I've recorded so far not one has had a single commercial detected. I tried searching on Google and on this list but I couldn't find anyone with a similar problem. Any ideas?

Oddly, when I hit "z" when playing back a problem recording it says "Not flagged" although when highlighting the show in the recordings section, it has the icon that shows it has been flagged. In mythweb after the the flagging job has run it always says "0 commercial breaks found." I have not tried turning on "Strict Commercial Detection" because I'm under the impression that it typically would find less commercials when thats on (if the flagging was working in the first place). I can try turning it on if that might make a difference.
