There is an unofficial third party gcc toolchain available. Since I am  
using Apple's tools I haven't looked into it. I don't know how easy it  
would be to build it on linux and deploy it, but I'm sure it is  
possible.

As a side note, I currently don't have an iPhone nor an iPod touch  
(sounds kinda crazy when I'm developing such an app), but I'm waiting  
for the next revision of the iPhone to come out this summer. This  
means that I could use help from any hardware testers who try it out.  
I only know that it works on the iPhone simulator they provide with  
the SDK.
