I was wondering, why does windows (and all

I've used svideo out on my hp laptop, my friend's dell laptop, my sony vaio
desktop, and a number of laptops and desktops through the years...all
running windows. Every single one of them had perfect video with the svideo
connection to the tv. Also, I've used it on several tv's and projectors.

Then I got into linux and mythtv, and saw svideo and tv connection
problems/difficulties. Not that I could not get it working, just that I was
wondering why such issues are in linux? But it does make sense about the
video drivers being more windows based...but then again, I've used several
nvidia cards in linux, and nvidia makes the linux drivers...so that point is
kinda moot. Must not be the drivers...must be something else.

But, it is what it is, and at least I'm not having problems. But I'm sure
there are plenty of people who gave up on linux mce programs because of the
difficulty.
