[mythtv-users] How can I turn off Open GL without the frontend?

You can temporarily override the used painter by starting mythfontend 
like this:-

mythfrontend -O ThemePainter=qt

Then you will have to go to the Appearance settings screens to change it permanently or else it will revert back to the OpenGL one the next time the frontend is restarted.
