For that reason (automatically scanned channels in "wrong" order, 
channel names), I have always preferred setting channels manually (with 
the frequency-table from the cable operator).

Some tv or vcr are really user unfriendly in that matter...

One other advantage of setting up the channels manually within MythTV: 
you can type in the channels ids of the grabber at the same time.

In the end, I cannot tell if entering all the data manually requires 
more time than let MythTV do all the stuff and correct it later. But I 
cannot tell the opposite either.
