There was a change made in 0.21 to help the 1080p scaling issues.  I
tested it on a 1920x1200 iMac, and it solved the issue there.
Unfortunately it appears it didn't solve the issue across the board.

If you turn off the "Scale as necessary" option in playback settings,
does it help your 1080i playback?   If so, the root source is probably
the same as what we were seeing before.
