Thanks guys.  I did try the scan and it didn't seem to do anything... that's
why I was
asking about IRC-vs-HRC-standard....

Turns out things work better when you scan a card that has a coax connected
to it...
if you scan the wrong card... it just gets time outs on every channel and
takes a long
time to tell you that it didn't see any channels. ;( If you scan the card
with the coax
connected to it, things work a lot better. ;)

I got similar results with Cable and Cable IRC. The Cable IRC option seemed
to have
gotten my channel numbers more correct than the Cable option scan.

I only get the local OTA HD stations and some local access stations... I was
hoping
for more...  I'll have to see how this compares to my OTA antenna that I
used to use
for HDTV recording.
