There's just not that many upgrade options for my motherboard since
it's socket 754. I found a Athlon 64 3200+ for under $100 but if I
were to do that I might as well get a new MB/CPU combo, but it would
cost even more since I'd likely have to buy DDR2 memory for a modern
system.
I think I'll go with the HD and Memory for now and move all the media
stuff to the new disk. I can deal with the slight pauses for now, the
biggest irritation is the BIG pauses when moving recordings out of the
ring buffer or comm flagging which I'm hoping these upgrades will help
with since I notice a lot of disk thrashing going on.
