Some brands of LOT's have detachable wires. They are held in place with 
a plastic 'plug' which is teethed on the inside to hold the cable and 
has two notches on the outside to hold it into the LOT.
It is quite hard to get them out (thats intentional..).
With a pair of cutters which you 'wedge' in between the plug and the 
plastic tube of the LOT you can carefully wiggle the plug upwards.

If the cable is glued in you have to cut it just above the plastic tube, 
strip the end of the cable for about 5 mm making sure it is straight and 
push it into the new LOT which presumably has the 'plug' system.
